What counts as a question?

No token math, no hidden multipliers, no gotchas — here's exactly how the meter works.

Usage-based metering — one tool call, one credit, drawn from an org-wide balance. When you ask your AI something, it makes a tool call into your data — running a read-only query, fetching a sample, checking a schema. That call is the unit the meter counts.

Being honest: every tool call counts — including the small ones. If your AI lists your tables or looks up a schema before answering, that lookup is a credit too. Most questions resolve in a single call; a complex one can take a few.

What never costs credits: signing in, connecting sources, managing users and teams, and browsing your tables or audit logs in the DataAssist-IO app. Credits are spent only when your AI reads your data.

And every deducted credit lands in a structured audit trail with user attribution — your admins see who asked, what ran, when, and whether it succeeded.

What exactly counts as one question?
Every tool call your AI makes into your data costs one credit — the query behind an answer, and also small lookups like listing your tables or checking a schema. Most questions are a single call; a complex one can take a few. Everything else — signing in, connecting sources, browsing the app — is free.
Do credits expire?
No — never. There's no monthly cycle to lose them to. A pack you buy today is still fully valid next year, and the free 30 don't expire either.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. Signup gives your organization 30 free questions with no card on file. You only enter payment details if and when you choose to buy a pack.
What happens when our balance hits zero?
Queries pause — nothing breaks and nothing is deleted. Your sources stay connected and your data stays exactly where it is. There's no card on file, so there's no auto-charge: an admin buys a pack whenever you're ready, and questions resume instantly.
What's your refund policy?
All purchases are final — we don't offer refunds. Because credits never expire, an unused balance keeps its full value until you spend it. If you're unsure, start on the free 30 and buy the smallest pack first.
